    • Typical projects progress as follows:
      • A site visit (Requires the machine in operation, allowance for machine interruptions, and access to operators and maintenance personnel for input).
        • Obtain a detailed understanding of the process and equipment.
        • Measure current rate of operation and list top waste and delay occurrences.
        • Listen to operations and maintenance input regarding improvements needed.
        • Understand the key product quality requirements.
        • Identify and discuss potential improvements.
        • Obtain product samples.
    • ​Provide a report with recommendations and justifications including a quote for a proposed scope of work.
      • Scope of work typically includes:
        • Engineering design
        • Fabrication and purchasing of parts
        • Sub assembly
        • Installation and start-up support
      • Process Feasibility Testing
        • Often the success of an automation projects rests on a few small process steps that need to be proven prior to committing funds.
          • High risk process steps are identified, and a proposal is provided to test their performance most economically.
            • Depending on the anticipated likelihood of success, test equipment can be specified and purchased with the intent of using using it on the project to minimize the sunk cost of the testing.
